Ingrédients

1 3/4 cups textured vegetable protein (TVP) (meat substitute)

1 3/4 cups vegetable broth (for added flavour) or water

1/2 cup oatmeal flakes

1 egg (or 2 tablespoons ground chia seeds mixed with 3 tablespoons of water)

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1/3 cup Patience Fruit & Co Organic Dried Cranberries with No Added Sugar, Sliced, chopped

2 tablespoons Montreal steak spice

2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying

Haven’t had much luck lately making veggie burgers? You can stop searching for the perfect recipe – we’ve got it! The secret ingredient is textured vegetable protein (TVP), which creates a delicate, delicious texture (bet you won’t miss the meat!).

Bonus: our dried cranberries add a tangy-sweet touch you’ll love.  Better yet, a slice of cheese on top of the patty makes a perfect sweet and salty combo. And if you’re headed out on a camping trip, they’re perfect – no refrigeration required!

Recommendations

Textured vegetable protein, also known as textured soy protein, makes a great replacement for ground beef or finely chopped meat in your favourite recipes. It comes in dry granules, ready to rehydrate in broth or water. You can find it in the health-food section at most grocery stores.
